So here's a question for all of you. What's the furthest you've been from home? Before coming here, I mean. This place doesn't count. I want to know how far people have traveled before coming here.

The name of the place you're from, the name of the place you like going. What your favorite city is called. Things like that.

I've always liked traveling. But I used to spend years in one place, even so. Always found myself drawn back to where I was born. It's one of those interesting things about people. I don't exactly miss the place, but I do find myself thinking about it sometimes. What it would be like if we could go back with memories of this place instead of forgetting everything.

So there's a second part of my question, I guess.

Say you go home, but you remember everything from here. What would you do with that information?

What if you arrived home at a time before the last thing you remember?

He's older than the one I know but he's also different than the one I know. He remembers a completely different set of events.

A parallel world, then...? I believe I was speaking with someone about those not too long ago, actually. It's interesting to actually get to see those in action for once.

No one can. We're probably just better off trying to get used to being here until someone can give us some straight answers.

That doesn't seem too likely though, even if this place does look inviting enough.

Some of the bigger ones in my world aren't celebrated, but I'm sure no one would complain about those. You guys don't even have Christmas?

It's rather strange to talk about.

There are a number of people from both versions of Amestris here. I believe I've met all of them at this point. I'm more than likely not aware of all of the differences, but there are a number of them.

There's even one case of the same place in both worlds having a different name.

The part of history I want to change happened when I was a child. Before I arrived in Johto, I had been working on a way to make what happened that day right.

It would be quite convenient to be able to simply go back in time to prevent that event from happening in the first place. Needless to say it would be very strange to be reverted back into a child with all of my adult and Johto memories, however.

Really? That's bizarre, but at the same time, it's not wholly surprising.

I've only met one person who I truly know to have been from another world, but she didn't know anyone I'm familiar with whatsoever. It... made sense why she wouldn't, of course, but it was still somewhat jarring.

There were some people who could've been from my future, as well, but I don't know that for sure. For all I know, things could go a fair bit differently in my world than it did in theirs.

It sounds familiar, but only in the sense I may have read about it at some point.

I don't mind not having all the answers. Sometimes knowing the truth can only cause pain.

What if the answer is that we're all here by mistake? I'd rather not know at all.

I bet it would be a fun trip. You'll have to tell me about all the different Pokemon there.

You'll see them pop up on the network from time to time. I don't know if any of mine can read, but it wouldn't surprise me.

The two of them aren't chosen children, no. I don't think so anyway. I'm not familiar with the term. They fight because they have to. I guess you could say they're fighting monsters. They make it out just fine from what I understand.

I don't want to get your hopes up or anything because that would be unkind of me, but sometimes people from our worlds show up here. If she showed up normally, she'd become human and might be hard to recognize at first. But sometimes people will show up during strange events who aren't normally here and vanish as soon as the event ends. I believe it's supposed to happen again in November-- it seems to happen twice a year at any rate.

Maybe you'll see her then.

Something about the future didn't add up, then? The fact that there are times when things break off from each other so wildly is hard to understand. The multiple worlds idea is hard enough to understand without there being multiple copies of individual worlds out there.

Changes in the world or situations where some things don't happen are all rather strange.

oh yeah!! i've seen some weird text posts sometimes that didn't really sound like they were being made by normal people. those were pokemon??? cool!!!

chosen children is what i am!! it's someone who was chosen to save the digital world!!! i didn't think your friends were chosen children but i just wanted to make sure because if they were then i would know them!!!! but i'm glad they're doing okay!!

I see. Being tasked with saving the world is quite the job for anyone. Especially for kids. But you said you had a partner, right?

yeah i guess if we can't control coming here normally then it makes sense that people who end up here non-normally can't either!! still i really wanna see palmon or maybe one of my other friends if they show up!!!!! have your friends been here during one of those times before???

And I'll admit that I don't have too much trouble understanding them, but... well, they are a bit difficult to wrap your mind around when you're faced with them, I suppose. It's like the difference between discussing dangerous chemical reactions in theory and actually having the same reaction happen right in front of you.

If it's all the same, I'd really rather know the truth than to have someone cover things up.

I assumed they, whoever they are, probably didn't mean to bring us here to begin with. But if that's not the case, I'd like to know why we're here and if they have any intention of sending us back.

It's a kitchen appliance that toasts bread.

I know people who have been here for four years with no answer.

It's best not to dwell on it. Doing so will only make you unhappy in the long run.

That seems useful. The hotel rooms I've been in don't have one.
