008 Things Aquired - [text;]

So here's a question for all of you. What's the furthest you've been from home? Before coming here, I mean. This place doesn't count. I want to know how far people have traveled before coming here.

The name of the place you're from, the name of the place you like going. What your favorite city is called. Things like that.

I've always liked traveling. But I used to spend years in one place, even so. Always found myself drawn back to where I was born. It's one of those interesting things about people. I don't exactly miss the place, but I do find myself thinking about it sometimes. What it would be like if we could go back with memories of this place instead of forgetting everything.

So there's a second part of my question, I guess.

Say you go home, but you remember everything from here. What would you do with that information?

What if you arrived home at a time before the last thing you remember?

[LOOK HE MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE SOME ISSUES we don't discuss those ever.]

Of course not.

Have fun with your discussions; I have work to get back to.

Absolutely not. That involves travelling and I'm perfectly content right here.

[Guess who really hates the routes.]

is this even a question

[True, but you try staying indoors your whole life and then being forced to spend two weeks on a route it isn't fun.]

I do need to get a few badges, but I've been putting that off until I have a balanced team. There are things I'd rather be doing.

Over the course of my life, I've been able to start chains of events that have changed the world. Even in death, I was able to pull it off one last time.

In having things play out exactly as they did, I was able to have a lasting impact on the world and those in it. Why should I want to change that, or regret anything that happened?

[And yet you don't even look like a zombie! Congrats, Greed!]

Did you now? They're quite powerful once you get them to evolve, though they can be difficult to train while they're an Abra. It's worth the frustration.

Is it sleeping frequently? They all do that. If it's teleporting away from you and trying to force you to catch it then you might have a problem.

Exactly. I think the pattern I've noticed that most of the people who show up here are involved with something important beforehand, and it seems as though they occasionally have a chance of attracting others from their worlds... but this isn't always a guarantee.

People have attempted to hash out the criteria before, but we haven't hit on any real answers yet.

You don't. They sleep for eighteen hours a day, if not more than that. Alekhine spent the entire day asleep and was only awake late at night. Don't concern yourself with that though - they're capable of teleporting away from danger and you can still communicate with them. It takes some doing to get them to trust you, but once you've gotten over the initial hurdle things should be much easier.

I wouldn't suggest it while you're travelling. The Abra is going to be more focused on its surroundings than listening to you. Once you're in a city or a town you should be able to get it to listen better; if it isn't in danger, it will certainly be easier to communicate with.

It's difficult to explain. I found it easiest at first to speak out loud to the Pokémon; basically treat it like any of your others. Attempting to establish psychic communication immediately might make it wary of you.

Alekhine taught me how to properly do it after he evolved into a Kadabra. Even now I don't know how to put it into words. I assume the same thing will happen for you, but if your Pokémon doesn't like you for some reason, I can see if there's a way to describe how it's done.

Exactly. You'll be fine once you get into the city. Don't let her stray too far just to be safe.

Hopefully they will show up here. You never know who's going to turn up.
