011 Things Acquired - [action; FOURTH WALL]
[This time, when the shift happens, Greed is prepared. It's been six months, and it's finally hit him that given how long he spent locked away in a prison with no exit, it shouldn't feel like he's been here a long time-- what that really means is it's been seven months since he broke free of Dante's grasp, and that is a big deal no matter how he looks at it. And yet it does feel like a long time, precisely because it's been half a year without Dante.
He's too proud of himself, like he had been upon first finding himself in the region.
Yesterday, the snow had bothered him because of how cold it was. Today, now that he can't quite feel the coldness of the snow, it's more entertaining than anything else. Maybe in a few days there will be enough snow for him to cause problems with. It's a little unfortunate there isn't enough snow on the ground for him to do anything with it now, but he'll deal with it.
As it is, shifting his hand (his entire body, really) into its carbon-black form is something he's missed.
Terrorizing an entire city would be pretty damn easy to do at the moment, but Greed is going to restrain himself, poorly. Prowling around and generally looking like he's up to something makes him look like the least subtle cat possible isn't something Greed is going to get away with for long. Maybe he'll be able to find someone he recognizes before one of the locals who haven't been horribly glitched some to ask him what the hell he's doing.
Or, more likely, he'll get bored halfway through whatever he's currently doing in favor of paying a visit to his favorite cafe.]

Of course. There are plenty of out of the way places where I could show you.
[He loves showing it off. Of course he's going to do it at the first given opportunity.]

Sure. I know a place.
[The "place" ends up being a hotel room because Greed doesn't have anywhere else he can show it off, and the street has a chance of someone noticing him so a private room it is.]
This does get a little ugly.
[But it doesn't stop him from shifting his hand into an extremely powerful looking claw.]
I can make it cover my entire body.
[As much as he loves showing off the Shield, the average response he gets to it is more horror than interest, so he'd rather not go all the way until he's positive Tsukiyama isn't going to react negative. Not that he thinks he would, but one can't be too careful.]

That said, he doesn't react with horror at the Shield, though it takes him a moment for his brain to decide that it's not just going to violently check out; there's a sense of "wow that's kind of" pervading the entire situation for several reasons. The more rational part of his mind that shows up from time to time is telling him that this has potential to get rather messy in a hurry, particularly if Greed decides it's a great day to have ulterior motives and tries to test the theory he seems to have regarding Tsukiyama not being human; the rest...well, it's sort of hoping he'll try, despite that being a completely terrible idea, because that is absolutely fascinating.
Either way, eventually, he smiles, and he seems very interested, thank you very much.]
Affascinante - I've never seen anything like it! It's highly impressive, Greed-san.

It's a stupid move but he's completely innocuous on his part. He doesn't even sit on the bed or anything, instead standing around awkwardly for a moment as he looks as his hand, shrugging before he lowers the Shield again. The full thing is rather ugly, even if Greed does enjoy showing it off.
No, he's not going to attack Tsukiyama, because that would be rude and Greed isn't exactly a fan of outing someone as nonhuman who isn't forthcoming with the information. He'll let it go.]
Thank you.
[He'll take that ego stroking.]

Is it just something that you do at will, then? Can you simply...decide to do it, or is there a particular level of control required to achieve it, or...?
[...At...at least he stops himself...]
Ah, sorry, sorry! That's likely rude, isn't it?
no subject
[...]
There's some amount of control required.
[He points to his chest, which is currently covered by a sweater.]
Normally, if I want to lower it here I need to concentrate more. It's not impossible to do, but I have to concentrate little more. It's the same with having it cover my entire body.
[There's probably some amount of survival instincts kicking in for him to protect vital organs, but Greed doesn't actually think about it in terms of survival.]
no subject
[Because that implication isn't lost on him at all.]
That's naturally the first place people want to protect, n'est-ce pas? If we're trying to protect ourselves, shielding the upper body is the first thing we move to do, assuming our head isn't at immediate risk of being hit.
That is interesting, however. Very much so.
no subject
Probably. I'll admit I don't think about it much. It's not easy to hurt me when I'm like that, but that doesn't mean I'm invincible. The person I end up in a fistfight with may disagree, though.
no subject
Shall I try to avoid getting on your bad side, then? Seeing as I prefer to not be snapped in half and all.
no subject
[It... takes a lot to end up on Greed's bad side. If the backstabber isn't even permanently on Greed's bad side, Tsukiyama is probably safe.]
I've shown you what I can do-- I don't have any other tricks, and I don't mind the questions.
[Well, other than not dying when you kill him in normal circumstances, but he'd rather not have that happen today.]
no subject
I'm not afraid, either, if that's what you're thinking - though I appreciate the assurance.
no subject
Either way, I'm not about to spike you like a volleyball.
no subject
[Don't read too much into it, Greed.]
If anything, I'm grateful that you've been so open with me.
no subject
[He won't, if only because it makes sense for there to be some amount of trust involved, even if that trust comes from being predictable. Greed is a fairly honest man, and it's always been pretty obvious when he's about to do something stupid or impulsive.]
I'm sure you've realized by now that this place is fairly predictable except for when it decides it's time to throw out all of its rules out the window.
If it helps someone, even a little, I don't mind sharing what I've learned here.
no subject
You're certain it will only be like this for a few days?
no subject
I'm positive. Things get weird here, but it only lasts for four days at most. I can't imagine this one will last any longer.
