012 Things Acquired [text; action for Goldenrod]
So here's a question. This place still likes hypothetical, doesn't it?
Say a while ago something happened to you. One of those should be impossible situations that you were nevertheless curious about. But you don't remember it too well so you were hoping that maybe lightning strikes twice. Just maybe, you'll get your chance to have it happen again and this time remember the situation with a bit more clarity than the last.
You're just that lucky-- it happens again by some act of divine providence.
But when it happens again everything about it feels strange. It's like looking into one of those funhouse mirrors. Everything about it is off. It feels wrong. You remember all of it this time and wonder, despite it being what you wanted, if you dearly wish you didn't. It makes you question yourself. Why would you want to have it happen again? Maybe there was a reason why you don't remember it happening the first time.
What would you do? What the hell kind of situation would you find yourself wanting to happen again? I'd like to know, if you don't mind.

Like parallel universes?
I've known a couple people who had similar situations
Way back when there were two versions of one lady, both here at the same time. Didn't know either of them well, but there they were.
[There's a slight pause before her next message pops up.]
It really shook you up, didn't it? What did you talk about with him?
[Private Text]
We didn't talk about anything in particular; to be honest, he was perfectly pleasant. I've heard the other world's versions of the homunculi are odd so I was prepared for it. Figured he had to be more like me than the others, anyway.
He still betrayed the group, all of that. For different reasons but I don't care.
It's just that when I actually spoke with him, it was like talking to an alien. A very pleasant alien, but still an alien wearing my face.

that has to be weird
I was gonna mention that I've met doppelgangers before but I think my situation was pretty different. No weird parallel universes involved or anything...
for the record, though, no matter what the other you was like, it doesn't make YOU you any less real
You know that, right?

How can someone who looks just like me, who has such a close personality to me, be so different?
I'm sure he had the same thoughts as I do.

There's parts of what we are that are hardwired into us, things that never seem to change no matter what we go through
But so much of us comes from our experiences
I used to be a completely different person than I am now
The other Greed is still you sure, but his life was probably so different
That's how.
[Private Text]
[That's the thing. It's not their lives being different.
It's how they were made.
Hundreds of greedy souls stirred into one point of sentience versus being created from human sin, learning to take on the aspect of his sin.]
It doesn't matter, I guess. I'm me and he's himself.
[Private Text]
well, maybe it's not
anyway, I wouldn't let it bug you too much
it's like you said: you're you.
and even if your lives back home weren't so different, you've sure got a different one NOW
hey, how about i grab a couple of pizzas on the way home tonight and we grab Henry and Envy and play some competitive Lucario Kart? Winner gets the last slice
[Private Text]
Actually, I rather like the sound of that.
Let's do it.

You got yourself a deal
meat-lover's or bacon-pineapple?
or both?
[Private Text]
Don't think I've tried bacon-pineapple before.
[Private Text]
i think itll be right up your alley
it's weird, a little tacky, and extravagant as hell
