Really, he can't be worried. He's escaped the bitch as far as he's concerned so he's going to be stopping every single person he runs into to ask about the town hoping he can learn something useful because he sure as hell can't blend in. Well they told me when I got here that I'm a pokemon breeder so they way I look at it, I can figure out how these things reproduce and sell the eggs.

Lots of these pokemon seem to be pretty cute. But I'll be honest: this sort of thing is entirely outside of my knowledge so anything you can tell me would be appreciated.

You'd be surprised. Some of them evolve to be rather frightening. Izzy was cuter as a Charmander, but his second stage is a bit more fearsome.

[He turns his camera so that it's focused on a Charmeleon lounging nearby, claws tapping on the ground as he watches over a young Eevee and a chubby Cyndaquil.]

[Two of those are definitely what he'd call "cute", but yeah. That thing is pretty ferocious looking.]

So... how does it work, exactly? Just need a male and a female of the same type of pokemon and then you'll get an egg with enough time or what?

It doesn't even need to be the exact same type. There are breeding groups. As long two Pokemon are in the same group, they can breed.

Izzy is in the Monster and Dragon groups, for example.

Is there a book in the pack that explains the different breeding groups?
