004 Things Aquired - [action; FOURTH WALL]
[He's suddenly, horrifyingly aware that something is terribly wrong with his body.
What... what's going on? He breathes in through his nose, and he can tell immediately that he doesn't need to breathe in air by the way his chest doesn't quite give in a natural way.
Has he... has he gone back to being a Homunculus proper?
Dammit, he had been so close to being happy here. So close to finding humanity normal, and now he's back to square one.
Greed rushes to the peer, watching the ocean with a mix of forlornness and anger. And then he jumps off the edge, like anypsychology unstable normal person might do when they want to test something out.
He doesn't let himself sink far. He's aware almost immediately that he still doesn't need to breathe, even under the waves. There's only the stillness of the water and his own anxiety for maybe two minutes before instinct that he must have learned from newfound (newly lost?) humanity kicks in and he quickly resurfaces, climbing back onto the flooring, his legs dangling off the edge of the pier.
Greed doesn't try to test his Ultimate Shield. He's not sure he wants to.
Maybe he should get inside before someone notices him dripping wet (and the fact that his hair is far too perfect for someone who just jumped into the ocean) but he's too morbidly fascinated with his own lack of a heartbeat.]
((ooc: general catch-all fourth wall post. Feel free to set your thread after Greed stops being an idiot if you'd like.))

Nobody dives for that long...
[He holds out his shawl, offering it as a towel. Concern still creases his brow.]

Maybe it was a bit too long. He's heard that humans can do pretty incredibly things so it wouldn't surprise him to learn that a human could hold his breath for as long as Greed did.]
I can. Don't worry about it.
[Which means that yes, this is probably something he should be worried about.]

[Caleb crosses his arms, still slightly skeptical.]
Do you know where we are?
[The question is perfectly pleasant as the boy turns to have a look around him. He's guessing that it's all just a dream, but...
When are you ever aware of how odd dreams are?]
no subject
Yeah, it's called Goldenrod. I've been here for a while now.
no subject
There are strange animals everywhere. I mean in general. I'm... not from here.
[The boy glances over Greed's shoulder. He's somewhat fixated on the ocean.]
I've never even heard of a place called "Goldenrod."
no subject
I hadn't either before I came here almost two months ago.
It's difficult to explain.
no subject
[It cannot be that difficult, can it?]
I would like to get home.
no subject
You know about the different settlements in the east, apart from yours?
This place is very far away from all of those. I don't have a map with me, so I can't show you but...
I'm not sure how you got here. Or how to help you get home.
no subject
But that's not important when the man just straight-up says that he has no idea how to get home.]
I'd say that this is just a dream, then.
[A very, very strange dream... Something must have been funny in his dinner. Yeah.]
Places like this do not actually exist.
[As he speaks, the boy is attempting to discretely take a closer look at this man's eyes.]
no subject
Yeah. Maybe.
[His eyes are actually rather creepy right now since they've gone back to normal.]
It's definitely a weird place, I'll give you that.
no subject
[Yes, definitely creepy eyes... But Caleb doesn't know what a homunculus is, so...]
May I ask your name? I'm Caleb.
no subject
Pleased to meet you, Caleb.
no subject
[The boy raises an eyebrow at "Greed." Nobody is named Greed. Not even in Amestris.]
no subject
But it is.
no subject
[Part genuine curiosity, part just... judging you hard, Greed.]
