[Oh, look. It's Greed on video. This is something of a rarity.

He's obviously outside and on one of the routes at the moment, looking annoyed more than anything else.]

You know, I thought I had this place reasonably figured out. Got a decent grasp on battling, don't really mind living out of a hotel room, and since it's summer, traveling between cities is actually not that bad.

That being said, what the hell is this?

[The camera shifts off of Greed and onto a bug-type that looks like a wheel.]

Cedric used to be a beetle. Why--

What the hell is he supposed to be? Can he even battle like this?!

How the hell does a beetle even change shape to begin with! It's the final stage of a metamorphosis so why the hell did he go and turn into that thing?

[And since he's facing the camera, he completely misses the Whirlipede rolling its eyes at him.]

I bet he's really strong for a Bug-type! None of the ones I've seen yet look anywhere near that cool. They've mostly just been worms and cocoons...

Nova takes them down pretty easily, since he's got a really strong Ember attack! But I dunno if yours would go down as easily as the others I've seen...

Well, Cedric is still a Bug-type. He's strong, but he's not that strong, you know?

But I wouldn't put him up against a type he's weak to.

There are some Pokemon that I've seen that are so strong they can take on Pokemon that they're weak against, type-wise! Like, if Nova had a move that was Grass-type, or Electric-type...

Actually, Rollout is a Rock-type move, so that'd be good against a Fire-type like Nova!

[Greed has a decent grasp on battling, but strategy is actually not something he's good at. He's more the type to brute force things, which is probably why this is the first evolution he's seen despite being in Johto for months.]

That's true.

...you know, sometimes it's possible for certain Pokemon to learn moves from types they're weak against. Wonder if he can do it.

You never know unless you keep battling and try it! I mean, the more you battle around, the more moves he'll start to learn, after all..! That, and through TMs, though I haven't found too many of those around just yet. I'm looking around, though!

Goldenrod has plenty of TMs.

Might be able to find others elsewhere. Couldn't tell you for sure.

Researching if a Pokemon can use a TM might take some time but it could definitely be to a person's advantage, yeah?

I keep meaning to go there! A big city like that just sounds lovely, and it's not too far from where I am in Violet...

I don't think it should take too long, though! I mean, you can tell right away if a Pokemon is compatible with a TM, I think. It's just a matter of whether or not you want to use it right away..!

I've been living in the city for a while now. It's nice.

Bigger than I'm used to, but nice.

I'm from a small kingdom, myself, so to be able to see a big place like that with buildings and everything...

Well, I'm pretty excited to be able to go.

I'm from a small town called Dublith. It's bigger than it used to be, but it's still a fairly small town, all things considered. Anything smaller than it is completely rural.
