006 Things Acquired - [video;]

[Oh, look. It's Greed on video. This is something of a rarity.

He's obviously outside and on one of the routes at the moment, looking annoyed more than anything else.]

You know, I thought I had this place reasonably figured out. Got a decent grasp on battling, don't really mind living out of a hotel room, and since it's summer, traveling between cities is actually not that bad.

That being said, what the hell is this?

[The camera shifts off of Greed and onto a bug-type that looks like a wheel.]

Cedric used to be a beetle. Why--

What the hell is he supposed to be? Can he even battle like this?!

How the hell does a beetle even change shape to begin with! It's the final stage of a metamorphosis so why the hell did he go and turn into that thing?

[And since he's facing the camera, he completely misses the Whirlipede rolling its eyes at him.]

[it's perfectly funny when it's not him.]

Mostly books, honestly. There have been visitors from other regions at certain events, though --- that's the only way I learned about one of them.

Aside from the ones we have access to, Hoenn and Sinnoh are nearby but... inaccessible. I believe Sinnoh is across a fairly impassable mountain range, and I believe Hoenn's to the south.

Unova, by contrast, is rather far away, and Kalos is... well, I don't even know. It seems to have come out of nowhere, really... the locals have hosted a gala in April at a secret location the past two years, and we were lucky enough to encounter some guests hailing from there.

There were actually a few I could only find the names of, which was... odd, particularly given that I hadn't even been made aware of Kalos before I met those individuals. I still haven't been able to find much literature about it, even though I've met people from there.

But... yes. Information is extremely inconsistent, and I only really consider my information on it reliable because I don't really think the natives are quite far gone enough to lie about being from a fictional region.

In all fairness, when you have a small animal that can melt steel with its breath, you don't necessarily need weaponry of any kind.

It truly is bizarre, though. Given that the foreign guests didn't seem to be under any sort of protection and there didn't seem to be any terseness about them, I would suspect relations are good.

It seems as though they take no issue with using them for petty crime, but that is a slightly different beast. Furthermore, I can't tell how much is a result of outside influence, really...

Would we want to, though? I feel like it'd just get embarrassing.

I suppose I just have an extremely low threshold for people making utter fools out of themselves, really.
enjoymyatelier: but what would that even do. (gradients of babylon...?)

...I suppose it depends what kind of foolishness I'm dealing with, but in most cases, it really is.
