008 Things Aquired - [text;]
So here's a question for all of you. What's the furthest you've been from home? Before coming here, I mean. This place doesn't count. I want to know how far people have traveled before coming here.
The name of the place you're from, the name of the place you like going. What your favorite city is called. Things like that.
I've always liked traveling. But I used to spend years in one place, even so. Always found myself drawn back to where I was born. It's one of those interesting things about people. I don't exactly miss the place, but I do find myself thinking about it sometimes. What it would be like if we could go back with memories of this place instead of forgetting everything.
So there's a second part of my question, I guess.
Say you go home, but you remember everything from here. What would you do with that information?
What if you arrived home at a time before the last thing you remember?

As for your second question, I wouldn't benefit very much from retaining the knowledge of my time here. I wouldn't benefit from returning to my world in general, to be honest. Circumstances were...difficult, even at an earlier point in time.
[text]
Did a job take you away from where you used to live? That was the reason I moved around so much. Traveling isn't bad, but having a home to come back to is important I think.
I've noticed that's a common theme here. Whatever our situations, coming here is the better outcome for many people. I'm not sure why people are brought here, but I certainly can't complain when this place is so much better than what I left.
[text]
There are a few aspects that would make my life here completely ideal, but...yes, it does seem to be a common trend to prefer life here over home. Many of us seem to have come from difficult times in our lives, that being taken away from our troubles has done us some good. I imagine that is especially true for those who are no longer alive in their world.
[text]
At least in this world people can't truly die. I'm sure there's more to it than that since the concept as a whole is a little unusual, but it's certainly not a bad thing.
Being pulled here after dying must make this place seem like a very weird afterlife.
[text]
But yes, I imagine so. Especially if other people are present who are alive and well in their own worlds.

[He really hates talking about ghost Pokemon but it's relevant here.]
So that's why I say there has to be more to it than people can't die.
People aren't always brought from the same period in time, either. I know people here who come from some point after me. It's not consistent, whatever this is.
[text]
That is quite the mystery, isn't it? This world is full of those. Though I have to wonder how it happens...I've never heard of anyone dying and I've been here for over two years.
Yes, I've experienced similar inconsistencies. I've had people from my world appear from points in time before and after my own. If anything, it only serves to cause a mess of confusion.
[text]
Yeah, I've had that happen to me, too. Everyone from my world is from a point after me. It's kind of a strange thing to get used to.
[text]
Is that the reason you asked your second question? From finding out what happens in your future due to your acquaintances filling in the blanks?
[text]
I've known since I got here what happens. At least, what happens to me. Let's just say I don't remain in the picture long term.
I know why it happens. How it happens I can't know and I don't really want to know. I was curious if anyone else had experienced something like what I have upon coming here. Call it guilt or whatever. A desire to change the past probably isn't anything unusual for most people.
[text]
But you are right, you are not alone there. Changing the past...I made that my life's work back home. Unfortunately, if I were to manipulate my return date in time upon leaving this world, I would be going back decades.
[text]
You've got me curious now.

It would be quite convenient to be able to simply go back in time to prevent that event from happening in the first place. Needless to say it would be very strange to be reverted back into a child with all of my adult and Johto memories, however.
