You know, there's something to be said about this place.

I get here in April and things are strange as a newcomer. It takes some getting used to, but it's not all bad. Then there's May and that's when things get screwy. The weird hail during an otherwise sunny week, and then that weekend when everything went to hell with the crystals and people popping up who aren't normally here. I only wish I could remember more of it clearly.

Then, in June, it snowed that one day. Actually snowed! In the middle of summer! What the hell are the chances of that? It melted the next day naturally so whatever caused it fixed itself.

July gave us a hurricane with sharks flying through the air and then August was suspiciously normal when it comes to weather.

Now, here we are, three days into September, and we've already had dogs and cats falling from the sky like someone up there is taking a metaphor a little too literally.

I'm disappointed we didn't get snakes raining from the sky today. Or porcupines.

I've been here just about five months now and I must admit this place has its ways of keeping a person entertained.

Admittedly, I'm somewhat curious to see if whatever happens explains exactly what happened last October, but I suspect it'll rain... oh... some new Ghost type that will do something unexpected and horrifying, I suppose.

Whatever happens, I hope we can avoid dealing with Ghost types.

There was one year that didn't really involve them, if I'm remembering right.

Of course, we just had a complete breakdown of reality into some sort of horrible glitchy mess instead, so I have to say that I think I'd prefer the Ghosts, even though I've caught most varieties of them already...

This places is pretty damn strange. I've heard about the breakdown of reality from someone before. I'll admit I'm glad I haven't experienced anything like that.

Though with my luck we'll be experiencing a complete breakdown of reality now.

Well, whatever happens, I'm certain it will be completely bizarre. I imagine it'll be fascinating in retrospect, but I really hope it isn't a complete nightmare to live through.

I certainly would rather avoid anything traumatic, but from what I've heard, we're not going to be so fortunate.

Well, if you steel yourself for the absolute worst, you're likely to make it through... and even though they're unsettling, there doesn't seem to have been anything that could have actually killed us in the past, so keep that in mind.

If there's one thing I'm thankful for, it's the fact that this place lacks the danger of other worlds. It's nearly a vacation of sorts. Even the danger is impermanent and hardly fatal.

Whatever happens here, it could always be much worse.

Exactly. It's honestly fairly relaxing while never actually getting boring. For all its irritating idiosyncrasies, I do rather like that about this place.

It's something that takes quite a lot to get used to but I don't mind it.

How long have you been here, by the way? I don't think I've asked. I'm guessing it's years from how you talk.

Two years as of this April, actually. Really, I'd say there are still some things you never quite get used to, but being here this long does help make things a bit less absurd.

I can imagine. At least it's easy enough to get used to.

Just the same I'm not exactly looking forward to October.

At least that's a sentiment shared by anyone who's observed a pattern in the Octobers we've already faced.

At least nothing really creepy has happened so far.

Sure, we had dogs and cats rain from the sky like the universe is running out of puns, but it doesn't appear to be an indication that the world is about to end.

On the other hand we have another month to go.

Dear God, that was stupid. I'm just going to reiterate that, because it was.

But... yes. We'll see what this month brings, then.

Pretty sure it was the stupidest thing I've seen here so far. It's still kind of funny. Like some deity out there was playing a little joke.

An infuriatingly juvenile one. It's roughly the same feeling you get when you hear a really terrible pun, except multiplied by a thousand.
