I know Hohenheim was around from time to time. I only ever saw him once and I got the feeling he didn't like me very much, and he completely avoided Envy the one time he did show up that I'm aware of because I was in the room for the entire conversation.

This must have been... I'm not sure. I think it was two hundred years ago but honestly it could have been before that. Spending over a century locked away wrecks your perception of time.

He urged her to stop what she was doing and she refused. It's been too long so I don't really remember the specifics, but I remember wanting to hurt him. I would have done it in an instant had she ordered it.

She told him he should accept responsibility and he told her he didn't know what she was talking about. And then he looked at me, and I still don't understand the look he gave me. Pity? Hatred? Hell if I know.

I hated being the thing on the side. He was clearly the one she wanted, not me. I was just a convenience to her. Just something to pass the time with while she longed for that man once again.

I never told Envy that he showed up. It would only have angered him to know that I had the chance to attack the man but didn't because I was a loyal servant of our master.

[Wow that's a lot of words, and Lust understands that the story has two meanings to be taken from it.]

I was aware of our master's obsession with the man. It fostered some strange fixation on his son.

That's creepy. but not surprising, I suppose. But this story doesn't have much to do with Edward Elric. He's more of an unwitting player in all of it.

Hohenheim left the first time long before I was born, but I was also not the first one born. I was the third. The second being Gluttony.

[That was where Envy had come from. It made sense, suddenly, or sense enough for Lust to seize on the idea and label it fact.]

[But Dante had been the one to do it, not Envy. Greed can't help but feel bad for him, since that had been the driving force for most of his life.

Though maybe Envy is in a better place now, given that he's stable enough to actually be with someone. Greed isn't even stable enough for that, not really.]

None of us want to see either of them. I don't give a damn about him, but I give a damn about Envy.
