There's a reason for that. I know the reason because at one point, Envy and I were extremely close.
But it's also not really my place to go around telling other people. Maybe it's a little different, since you were so close to him, too, but if he never let on that complicates things a bit.
I know Hohenheim was around from time to time. I only ever saw him once and I got the feeling he didn't like me very much, and he completely avoided Envy the one time he did show up that I'm aware of because I was in the room for the entire conversation.
This must have been... I'm not sure. I think it was two hundred years ago but honestly it could have been before that. Spending over a century locked away wrecks your perception of time.
He urged her to stop what she was doing and she refused. It's been too long so I don't really remember the specifics, but I remember wanting to hurt him. I would have done it in an instant had she ordered it.
She told him he should accept responsibility and he told her he didn't know what she was talking about. And then he looked at me, and I still don't understand the look he gave me. Pity? Hatred? Hell if I know.
I hated being the thing on the side. He was clearly the one she wanted, not me. I was just a convenience to her. Just something to pass the time with while she longed for that man once again.
I never told Envy that he showed up. It would only have angered him to know that I had the chance to attack the man but didn't because I was a loyal servant of our master.
