Falling asleep for more than a month and waking up to it snowing.

Ah... I usually like that event. A shame, but it does happen twice a year, I suppose.

I find that it loses its charm if too many bats are involved, but I'd bet my sword arm it'll occur again in May. What's six more months in this world, at this point?

That's a very respectable number, higher than many can aspire to. But it... can be a shock, when you realize just how much time has passed.

....I imagine it gets more surreal the longer time passes.

...It does. If time still flowed back home during our absence, I'd have missed a quarter of my son's life. It's not an easy thought to ponder.

Luckily, even if that were the case he'd be old enough to survive without me, especially with his mother's help. But it still feels strange.

Hard to believe time is so inconsistent, but at the same time.... it's for the best, isn't it? This way you won't actually miss anything, even if it is difficult.

It certainly is. Especially if I consider that I'd be just as likely to miss the end of the world, considering its state when I was taken. I'd much rather have the opportunity to influence how that ends.
