Sometimes, people will fall asleep, and will wake up, remembering more that happened back home. I don't know if they actually go back, or if they just dream about it, or what, but it can get strange.

Sometimes people will wake up and be several years older.

A man goes into the woods, proceeds to drink himself into a stupor and then awakes to find that the world has passed him by. Then having discovered this, he proceeds to go about his business as normal, having learned nothing at all.
