[This is most likely stupid, but he doesn't see any other option.

Maybe they'll be safe for another day, maybe not. It's better to take care of this now, so as soon as he gets the opportunity after the trial, he approaches Kimbley, jerking his head in the general direction of the rooms they're "sleeping" in.]

I need to speak with you. Alone. If you don't mind.

[Like with everything else, it sounds like it's just a suggestion. Like he won't even really protest if Kimbley refuses.]
ossifragant: (⊕ out of three you've chosen misery)
It's been a few months, but I'm back in Goldenrod. I'd say I'm glad to be back, but apparently the ground shaking had to go and happen again not long after I got off the train. I don't have much experience with earthquakes, but we've had a few in a row. That can't exactly be a good sign.

Anyone know what the hell is going on? Is this going to be happening all the time now? At least they're not causing any damage, though the crystal I grabbed back in May makes me think that this is some kind of omen of things to come.

In any event, there are a few of you I wouldn't mind speaking with now that I've returned. I think you all know who you are but I'll be in contact at some point regardless.

Let's hope we've seen the last of this crap until then, yeah?

ossifragant: (θ where will you run)
You know, there's something to be said about this place.

I get here in April and things are strange as a newcomer. It takes some getting used to, but it's not all bad. Then there's May and that's when things get screwy. The weird hail during an otherwise sunny week, and then that weekend when everything went to hell with the crystals and people popping up who aren't normally here. I only wish I could remember more of it clearly.

Then, in June, it snowed that one day. Actually snowed! In the middle of summer! What the hell are the chances of that? It melted the next day naturally so whatever caused it fixed itself.

July gave us a hurricane with sharks flying through the air and then August was suspiciously normal when it comes to weather.

Now, here we are, three days into September, and we've already had dogs and cats falling from the sky like someone up there is taking a metaphor a little too literally.

I'm disappointed we didn't get snakes raining from the sky today. Or porcupines.

I've been here just about five months now and I must admit this place has its ways of keeping a person entertained.

ossifragant: (Ô yet i still wander)
So here's a question for all of you. What's the furthest you've been from home? Before coming here, I mean. This place doesn't count. I want to know how far people have traveled before coming here.

The name of the place you're from, the name of the place you like going. What your favorite city is called. Things like that.

I've always liked traveling. But I used to spend years in one place, even so. Always found myself drawn back to where I was born. It's one of those interesting things about people. I don't exactly miss the place, but I do find myself thinking about it sometimes. What it would be like if we could go back with memories of this place instead of forgetting everything.

So there's a second part of my question, I guess.

Say you go home, but you remember everything from here. What would you do with that information?

What if you arrived home at a time before the last thing you remember?

ossifragant: (⊕ be on our side)
[Hey, look.

Greed is on video again. Twice in the same month. This is some sort of record for him. Unfortunately, by his panicked face, this is probably one of those times where he's not thinking clearly (not that this is anything new, mind you) considering he's obviously in a PokeCenter at the moment, and by the angle he's at, he's halfway between sitting on the floor and crouching.]

Can... can someone tell me what the hell is going on? This isn't some normal storm.

[At least he's not outright freaking out. If he was, he'd probably be breaking things. As it is, it looks like he can't settle down instead of him needing to resort to violence.

That's something.]

I've seen bad storms, but this is something else entirely.

[Suddenly, he looks up, away from the 'Gear blinking and almost smiling.]

Was... was that a shark? I think a shark just flew past the window.

...I'm going to go look outside.

[No, Greed. This is a terrible idea.

Someone must agree, because off camera there's an irritated, "Mr. Greed, sit down," before the video cuts out.]
ossifragant: (⊕ good choice?)
[Oh, look. It's Greed on video. This is something of a rarity.

He's obviously outside and on one of the routes at the moment, looking annoyed more than anything else.]

You know, I thought I had this place reasonably figured out. Got a decent grasp on battling, don't really mind living out of a hotel room, and since it's summer, traveling between cities is actually not that bad.

That being said, what the hell is this?

[The camera shifts off of Greed and onto a bug-type that looks like a wheel.]

Cedric used to be a beetle. Why--

What the hell is he supposed to be? Can he even battle like this?!

How the hell does a beetle even change shape to begin with! It's the final stage of a metamorphosis so why the hell did he go and turn into that thing?

[And since he's facing the camera, he completely misses the Whirlipede rolling its eyes at him.]
ossifragant: (⊕ i am the wolf and you're the lamb)
Hypothetically speaking, how does a person deal with information that completely changes his entire understanding of the world? I'm not much of a philosopher myself so this question is looking for a more straightforward answer. I don't expect an easy solution and like I said, it's only a hypothetical.

People go through their lives expecting the world to operate on a certain set of rules, but when those rules suddenly stop working a person is sent into a crisis. Or he can be at any rate. Such a thing won't completely destroy the man, naturally. He's stronger than that. But it does leave him shaken and feeling a bit uncertain about particular things.

But the revelation nevertheless leaves him suddenly questioning his own identity.

So I ask: what would you do if you do anything at all?

[About thirty minutes later he sends another message, this time locked to Lust and not anonymous.]

If you have a moment can you get back to me? I found out something during that odd weekend and you're the only person who I can talk to about it.
ossifragant: (Φ waiting for our ship to come)
[He's suddenly, horrifyingly aware that something is terribly wrong with his body.

What... what's going on? He breathes in through his nose, and he can tell immediately that he doesn't need to breathe in air by the way his chest doesn't quite give in a natural way.

Has he... has he gone back to being a Homunculus proper?

Dammit, he had been so close to being happy here. So close to finding humanity normal, and now he's back to square one.

Greed rushes to the peer, watching the ocean with a mix of forlornness and anger. And then he jumps off the edge, like any psychology unstable normal person might do when they want to test something out.

He doesn't let himself sink far. He's aware almost immediately that he still doesn't need to breathe, even under the waves. There's only the stillness of the water and his own anxiety for maybe two minutes before instinct that he must have learned from newfound (newly lost?) humanity kicks in and he quickly resurfaces, climbing back onto the flooring, his legs dangling off the edge of the pier.

Greed doesn't try to test his Ultimate Shield. He's not sure he wants to.

Maybe he should get inside before someone notices him dripping wet (and the fact that his hair is far too perfect for someone who just jumped into the ocean) but he's too morbidly fascinated with his own lack of a heartbeat.]

((ooc: general catch-all fourth wall post. Feel free to set your thread after Greed stops being an idiot if you'd like.))
ossifragant: (Φ that's reeking from our skins)
So this is Goldenrod, huh?

Not much is open right now but at least I have a room to sleep in. I was getting sick of roughing it out in the woods.

Beats the beds at the inn in Cherrygrove. That was awful for my back.
[Greed why did you hang out there as long as you did.]

In any event, I know that some of you I've spoken to are here and I don't plan on leaving for the next city any time soon, so...

Just let me know, yeah?

action;
[In the afternoon, Greed is out and about exploring the city. He's at least acquired an umbrella since the last storm, though judging by how wet his coat is and the state of his hair, the purchase was clearly something of an afterthought bought earlier today.

He stops to watch the ocean for a very long time. This is the first time he's ever seen it. Amestris was landlocked, and he doesn't remember where he came from before that, but he doesn't think that it was anywhere near the ocean either so this is an entirely new experience for him. Especially with the rain hitting the water, it's... almost pretty, really.

It's not until thunder cracks overhead that he decides he should go grab a drink or lunch, or something just to get out of the rain because he really doesn't want to get struck by lightning.

Hopefully Envy isn't in the city right now, come to think of it.]

A train robbery, huh?

And here I thought this place was all sunshine and roses.

It seems pretty polite to let someone know you're planning an attack, though.

Video

[When the feed clicks on, it's shaking slightly, and a man with strange eyes is staring at it from under his sunglasses like he's half-expecting it to explode.]

So this thing is visible to anyone who is connected, huh?

[Someone says something just off camera and he smirks.]

In that case, I just have one question.

Are there any bars in New Bark Town?

[Priorities.]

Action- New Bark Town

[And get an immediate answer or not, Geed is going to wander the town with the strange cat thing following close by. This feels much closer to the freedom he had been searching for in the first place, even if there is a nagging sensation in the back of his mind that something is extremely off.

Really, he can't be worried. He's escaped the bitch as far as he's concerned so he's going to be stopping every single person he runs into to ask about the town hoping he can learn something useful because he sure as hell can't blend in. He might as well stick out in the most obnoxious way possible.

At least it'll get him noticed.]
